Off topic:

Ray, I heartily second that. May sound trite, but it's sincerely heartfelt: a big appreciation for all you US Service veterans out there.

Jack, thanks for the trading logs. A nice close to be sure.

All, volume sure has dried up some...comments, anyone?

Shalom all

Thanks, Ray, for the kind and thoughtful words.

On days like these, among others, I think of those who are no longer here to receive your thanks. Perhaps that, too, sounds trite. Unless you've walked each of the Normandy beach heads and seen Omaha and Pont du Hoc. Can't imagine having to do what THOSE soldiers (my term for all who ever wore a uniform -- not slighting any branch of the Armed Forces -- each suffers a special brand of hell) accomplished.

Those were some men. Unimaginable what they did.

There are hundreds of other battles in other wars, but it is crystal clear what they all went through just by strolling along the canvas of that campaign. Their cost in lives, fear, and friends lost is still humbling.

Thanks Ray :-) ya forgot me but that's ok...was only in the Gulf War :-) (was involved in the fake amphib assault -- a barrel of laughs..
just sat there off the coast as BBC broadcast that one was happening)
I prefer cat.pdx.edu
to ships and foxholes though...which is what FTEL will be doing
this year :-)
When you come home - there's nothing like coming home to a good American woman.....
cat.pdx.edu
Ahhh - America....
She's on the tube this eve...sure looks different now...
all thin....I prefered the meat on her bones..
Guess she is helping run a restaurant in Key West from what I hear..
