I think the woman probably ticked off the cop by meddling in an arrest, hence the original obstruction of justice charges (later dropped).. It certainly doesn't justify any beating of the woman, especially to the extent evident in the photos. They should have detained her and followed procedure.. Some cop apparently got out of hand and should probably lose his badge.. The lack of an internal affairs investigation seems to indicate some supervisors should lose their job as well. It's a very hard job to be in law enforcement. But all it takes are a few incidents like this to create a crisis of credibility in that policing agency. The rule of law in the US revolves around individual rights guaranteed by our constitution. When we look around the world, we're one of the few nations that has embodied individual rights into such a document. Hawk
