The whole exercise is pointless when luggage, caterers, and ramp workers aren't checked. I agree with you completely. Until all luggage on an airplane has been checked then many of these security checks are entirely pointless. TSA agents should also be screened, as well as having better controls of their uniforms and badges. A TSA uniform and badge seems to give that person different rights than an average citizen. Two years ago I made the big mistake of traveling when I was recovering from an accident. I had a brace on my arm and shoulder. After a more complete special security screening, and wiping down my cast braces, I decided to avoid that process on the return flight. I took the return flight without my brace on, and was nervous the entire time that someone might bump into my broken shoulder and arm. I carried the brace as carry on luggage, and put it back on when I got outside the airport. Without a brace on my arm and shoulder, I was treated like a "normal" passenger. I recently traveled to London and Paris, and I did go through the X-ray machine. I didn't like my choices, but decided that was the best of the two options offered. I'm very thankful that I'm not traveling during this holiday season, and with all of the "new" security measures we've adopted. I'm not sure if this video has been posted, but after watching it, I'm even more convinced that our screening system has to change. youtube.com
