TJ, there is a democratic process underway globally, with Helen Clark and others using UN and USA power and political influence to reduce freedom everywhere. They wish to close escape hatches so that none shall escape the depredations of democracy. Fortunately, China is acting as a substantial counterweight to the process, which is rich irony. Perhaps New Zealand will secede and become a colony of Hong Kong. The process is well underway. The process is similar to that of the British Empire whereby English people offered the local yokel Maoris some of their spare and prodigious wealth in exchange for land and services. Being eaten by genocidal ethnic cleansing neighbouring tribes was less attractive so Maoris took up the offers in droves. Chinese offer the impoverished local yokels some money and the locals are very happy to take the money and provide services to the new owners. Then China could arrest the Falun Gong protestors who regularly stand outside the China embassy down the road from me. They could restrict other freedoms people here enjoy. Mqurice
