Not that this really matters but I ran across this Nov. 8th article when looking for water utilities (no positions). NGG is the least shorted utility and BIP is the second most shorted utility. I have no idea if this is meaningful. A few months ago CINF had a huge short position but it has only gone up since then.

Phew, you forced me to think. I need a beer.)

thanks, it was worth it, so enjoy the beer. I am setting up a long term portfolio for my son, and I, too, own TPZ. Think that might be a better fit, but still considering BIP, maybe because it's diversity is sort of interesting while providing a decent income stream and some longer term appreciation potential for someone who has 30 years.

{Lord, to know then what I am teaching him now:)}.

While we're at it... I think there's been some discussion about BBEP, but wondering what the consensus is on it...

I'm somewhat interested in it simply because, along with ECA, BBEP holds mineral rights in the area where we own a vacation home and some undeveloped land.

Is that dividend sustainable? I can't tell based on what little info I've been able to dig up beyond their financials -- which should, of course, give a good indication about the dividend going forward, but a little outfit like that requires more FA than simply cruising through their financials.

Any thoughts anyone?

Jim

Have you looked at SCG in the utility sector? EXC has been a winner for me in that sector, too... I also like the other utes you listed... didn't you start out with a couple other utes and switched?
