QCOM, PWAV and the other tech stocks I played for earnings this quarter. TECD,PWAV,CATP,PMTC,CREAF(missed this),INTL,SYMC,REAL, WIRE(missed), SBTK,MCRL, SCTC, AATT, MPO, TKLC, ORBKF, REAL, ASTSF, ALCD, LBOR, MSPG, SMTC,IMRS,DSPG (lost it after Asian flu), (IMRS lost after the Asian flu)ADPT, DIIG, TLAB,SEBL,QMDC,CPWR,CMOS were most of the tech companies I played for earnings this quarter and will play again next quarter unless their circumstances change.. QCOM is a great company and it beat expectations by $.04. In an article from Barrons's of last Saturday, it states that analysts predcit that QCOM will be earning about 68% increases in revenue every year until 2000. It has a niche that belongs to it and there are only a few companies that I feel just as comfortable with and I can safely make earnings plays each and every quarter some of them are: Here are some new ones that I like and will play next quarter also: ATMI - - Advanced tech makes specialty materials and gear for the chip industry. The firms' EcoSys unit sells products that clean up toxiic wasstewater during the cipmaking process. Its Nova-Mos unit makes raw materials and delivery systems for thin film coating on semiconductor wafers. ...recently had an upgrade of earnings form 60 cents a share to 75 cents in 1997 and from 95 cents to $1.22 next year.. Has an IBD Earnings Per Share rank of 90 and Relative Strength of 98... ITIG.... provides a variety of information technology services, including custom softwaree development and systems integration. the bulk of its business is relateed to implementing what's called enterprise resource planning... Such software is designed to automate major business pocesses such as manufacturing, human resources, sales distrubution and finance. for the first six months of 1997, revenue rose 78% to just under $35 million from a year earlier. In the second quarter, Intelligroup earned 11 cents per share, up from two cents a year ago. on a 75% rise in revenue.. PSFT- reported a third quarter profit of 23 cents a share a 109% jump from a strong year ago period and 15% above analysts' estimates... LTBG Lightbridge, inc. - Lightbridg software baed services verify customer credit at retail stores while getting customers' phones up and running in minutes. Other services and software focus on fraud, customer churn and improing marketing. It's hat wireles phone carriers need to keep revenue streaming in.. AT&T's wireless services division is Lightbridge's largest customer, accounting for about 30% of last quarter's revenue.. Other large customers include Comcast Cop., southwestern Bell Mobile, Sprint corp's PCS division and U.S. cellular corp. Lightbridge's second quarter sales rose 30% to 49 million. per share earnings were 6 cents vs 2 cents a year ago. ZBRA, TSEMF, CHSE, JBIL did not do as expected but I haven't taken them off my list for the future.
