Organisms have survived close to 4 billion years of heat waves and ice ages and probably arrived here on meteorites. Life at best here is mediocre.

To put it in perspective...you are a Gaea type universe. Remember, you have ten times as many alien bacterial cells in your body as you have human cells. They help to keep their universe (You) functioning as a habitable biosphere. You and they are the conglomerate of life that forms your mutual mini-universe named the Longnshort Galactic Empire--or the Bacillus Spirochete, for short.

Will anything in that universe survive a Nova? Perhaps. A concerted attack by a dozen deranged priests in a mating frenzy? I think not. In the world of reality there do appear to be limitations inherent in all conditional things.
