Oh yes he is!! More than that he doesn't actually care about middle class or any class. He realizes that unions have become little more than a way in which socialist activists can corral groups of voters to mindlessly vote for what they are told is "their" benefit.

The political activity of unions has become outrageous. Union leaders have little or nothing in common with their line workers. Yet, they spend their money as if it were their own.
