TJ, having wandered around those zones, it looks as though Japan and USA can stay ahead of China and easily. There are too many crooks in China. China is a dog eat dog and human eat dog society. A few engineers at the top can't change the culture.

As my wife told me during India travels, I couldn't change India. While the bosses of China can have more impact, it's a very big project. Shift Happens.

As Arun says, you are picking nits in a culture and after 100 million years of development, Japan is great, glorious and wealthy while China is not. I have never seen pants in a vending machine, but I have seen rice. Perhaps you are making it up or there are 3 machines somewhere. You seem unduly excited about such a thing given how many times you refer to it.

Oh, China is going to go ahead is it? Promises promises....

USA has fewer prisoners of war than China has political prisoners. China's prisoners would like to swap places with the prisoners of war.
