Yeah, GE is very interested in conservation and the environment.

NOT

“By electrifying our own fleet, we will accelerate the adoption curve, drive scale, and move electric vehicles from anticipation to action,” said GE CEO Jeff Immelt.

Now, why would they want to do that?

This should help: GE has a lot of “charging stations,” known as the GE “WattStation,” and other things you need if you have a Volt or another electric/hybrid vehicle. GE said things like selling the WattStation, and its energy trading business, stand to gain up to half a billion in revenue from the electric vehicle market in the next few years.

You want to do something for the environment? Support CNG vehicles.

Ted, as I was driving through San Fran today seeing the Prius taxi cabs, I thought to myself, "Gee, wouldn't it be nice if local governments forced taxi cab drivers into brand new Chevy Volts?"

After all, it'd be a win-win for government and the environmentalists. Justify Government Motors and save the planet in the process.

Nothing can possibly go wrong, am I right? Reminds me of the name "Volkswagen," which basically means "The People's Car."

GM is now America's Volkswagen.
