Or this could serve as a warning to those who want to insert X2 in their RAS. ROK's recent earnings release showed that the 56k war costs them only about 6% hit on their earnings(down to 14.6% of total contribution from 20.7% in 1996). Could it be that the RAS folks in k56flex camps are unhappy with this war of attrition? The 6% hit on ROK is one thing, but it must be hell on ASND. If I was ASND mgmt, I would wire up a couple of X2 modems onto TNT, and call up the ROKs. Also notice the recent AT&T worldNet decision to add x2 services to 15 more cities in the US. It most likely is a $ decision, but interesting nonetheless.
