The U.S. Secretary of State is the chief foreign affairs diplomat for the U.S. Department of State. As a member of the Presidential Cabinet, the Secretary of State carries out various foreign policy duties. As such it is the responsibility of the Secretary of State to represent the USA with diplomacy regarding foreign affairs in a positive and dignified manner. It would be inappropriate to compromise the Secretary of State by putting her in a position that is at odds with US operations or policies, or for her to posture her self in such a manner. Condoleeza handled the controversies of the Bush admin masterfully and deserves credit for that along with her primary duties which she performed flawlessly.
