>His argument about reserve currencies was tendentious. Teleological... leading to? His argument is the old money conspiracy argument. >

That currency creation in a country is typically the monopoly of federal governments is well established. And funnily, all modern political systems - communist, democratic, capitalist, fascist, tin pot dictatorships, or islamic, or jewish - all seem to understand the power of this monopoly. Because monopoly on currency soon leads to the results of all economic activity in that currency accepting region to become centralized. This yields to huge economies of scale in industry and government, leading to surplus goods and services, which trickle down from those closest to the centralized, capital/money intensive organizations (whether industry or media or government or military or banks) to the sub contractors to individuals.

Think of the advantages of a reserve currency being like the benefits of branding or credit rating. Each status is earned the hard way, but once attained, gives advantages to its holder compared to a new competitor.

The company that has a good brand charges a lot more money for slightly better goods. One day the business gets commoditized and the company whose structure is based on a higher gross margin suddenly has to struggle to stay in business.

Similarly, a good credit rating allows companies to borrow cheaply. Sometimes, companies waste their credit rating on foolish bets, for example, AIG wasted its rating on foolish insurance policies (credit default swaps) that blew up.

>So, I asked Arun, to cut to the chase, what he thinks of Israel? He can write "NO problems with Israel. Live and let live I say." I'm sure he can express his ideology as he does.>

I really don't know much about Israel. Before arriving in United States, I was not aware of the historical strife between followers of Christianity and Judaism. I think Israel is a non-issue in South Asian and East Asian countries. They don't understand what the big fuss is about. However, in the middle-east and the west, it brings people to a boiling point. Guys like Larouche see the hands of Israel/Jews everywhere. Guys like you see innuendos about Israel in writings totally unrelated.

mq, please refrain from being deliberately dense.

i am trying to understand why you put words to arun re israel n jews n new york city in a discussion having to do with none of the people, faith, and city.

i am trying to understand your motivation in so obvious an attempt to stir the pot in a direction not natural, and for what?

should the motivation be impure, fellows and fellowettes should see what they may be

so, please, mq, do tell, whatever did you mean by, and i quote you, Message 26977801
<<The rural Indian farmer's poverty is not because of a reserve currency Jewish conspiracy in New York hatched in Israel. No doubt you are against Israel.>>

and in the post of your i am responding to, you say, and i again quote

<< The next logical step people make is to the bankers and oh, mmm, oh yes, the banks are Goldman Sachs and Rothschilds and hmmmm... and yes, there are general complaints about the Jewish influence in USA politics and international banking and let's face it, Israel is considered the height of evil among swarms of people for reasons which escape me and appear to have their own aspect of evil intentions.>>

do tell us, what do you mean to stir up, given that arun made no mention of anything about jews, israelis, or big apple.

cheers, tj
