or Ascend must decouple itself from other networkers. Cisco, the
bell-weather, had a bad day.

Did anyone else catch the interview with Bert Hochfeld of Josephthal on CNNfn Digital Jam last week? He had/has been considered one of the more astute networking analysts on the Street and spoke about his concern regarding ASND's warnings--he specifically mentioned the issue of TNT being deficient environmentally (overheating, etc., which I believe has now been remedied after the 5 volt components were replaced with 3+ volt components, just as improved fan/cooling mechanisms were incorporated)as well as deficient in comparison with CSCO's competing product (which seems not to be the case, esp. vis-a-vis port density, etc.). The thing that stung a bit was Hochfeld's last statement about ASND: "They're losing market share."
When asked about his favorite networking stock he chose BAY, a company that has received several neutral ratings from brokerage houses.
As for the losing market share statement, one could imagine that Hochfeld was referring to CSCO and their aggressive price-cutting campaign aimed at ASND. Any thoughts Gary, Maverick, Tim, et al.?
