Jim, they do require a confirmation password, but a person could always use the back button to find a password on a previous confirmation screen, if you already made a trade. It's better then nothing but I don't know if anyone else is doing it any better?

Maybe they can use the personal certicate feature of todays browsers and we can set the option to require a password after so much time as well.

The last thing I want to do is be reentering my password all day long! Datek allows for streamlined order entry. With proper management and use of the history list, confusion and typos are kept to a minimum and new orders entered quickly. With proper management you can probably keep your password secure. Fidelity suggests that you close your browser after accessing their Web Express. If others have access to your computer, maybe you should consider that.

Happy trading,
E

>>you must re-enter your passwd after you place the buy or sell order.

Yes, you are required to enter your password on a trade. After you have pressed the submit button on a trade, a page with the bid/ask, your trade information and your current position in that stock shows up. You must enter your password and press the submit button to proceed with the trade.

You usually get a message something like "Hey! You bought 1000 shares of QNTM at 35" or "Hey! You sold 1000 shares of QNTM at 27". Maybe Datek could add a stupidity indicator --> "Hey, lamer! You bough 5000 shares of LOCKC at 4 1/4. That was stupid."

You can also check the "Messages" button or the "Daily Activity" button for the same information.
