They are not the only ones. Recent earnings reports show that the food producers and others who make "necessities" are doing a good job of front running inflation and/or taking advantage of peoples inflation expectations. Prices, profits, and costs are all going up.

It seems strange given that Americans are supposed to all have their wallets closed right now. You would expect prices to get dragged along unwillingly by inflation and not lead it. (In other words, profit margins narrowing.)

I just can't figure it out: Joe Sixpack spending down, profits for basic providers up, stock market record outflows, insider selling, stocks holding up, etc.

Maybe Joe Sixpack has decided to use whats left of his money to start hoarding Spam and toilet paper?
