Hi GZ,

<<I think the impending disaster is already priced into that
market. It sounds to me like a great buying opportunity. >>

That is what makes a market, picking the turning points and direction. Just can't get myself to believe in a bottom when it still feels like I'm falling<g>.

Good Luck

Steve

Your reply clearly indicates you are a gambler and not an investor or even a trader. If the biggest gamble you can find is what your after you've done a great job and more power to ya, I wish you luck...and you keep mentioning the "pack"...as far as I have seen nobody I know of is selling or recommending selling outside of few here on SI. The "pack" still thinks the market goes up forever and your in it.

I'm fond of the idea of scaling in and out. It helps when the market moves against me. To that end, I'm taking positions in closed end funds trading at a substantial discount to NAV- in Asia, Switzerland and Australia. Yesterday I even offered to buy some options on APB, which last time I checked had 49% exposure to Hong Kong. Alas, the market maker thought I was to chintzy when it came to price. To date, these investments have not been profitable; I've not yet made my last investment.

At some point, the broader market will turn more positive. It looks like the stealth bear market in techs may complete it's course in the next week or two, based on past patterns. I'm watching closely, and decided today that I don't think its over yet. (Checkout the charts for ATML, ASND, CYMI, AMAT etc- I have no position in any of these stocks)

Remember, in confusion there's a profit to be made. I think the impending disaster is already priced into that market.

The Asian markets are not nearly as efficient as their Western counterparts.

I think it is only the beginning. A lot of US investors thought the sameway when Malaysian and Singapore markets initially dropped. Then what happened? As John D. said, this is the road-map to the future US markets.
