What does interest rates have to do with a bear market. Go ask Japan if low rates helped them over the last ten years.

i'll have to agree with you Doug. the asian economies are actually already "back on their feet" but the world hasn't recognized this standard as they are judging their economies' performance by the performance of their respective stock markets. their markets, however, appear to be following the US and vice versa and are not being driven much by how well they are doing internally. the depreciation of their currency has given some unforseen opportunities. we need a clear market leader - some sector, some country, but it isn't appearing. this market will eventually create an excellent money making opportunity if we are not there yet - unlikely from today's action. don't know what to think at this point other than there are companies whose prices are going lower. hopefully Cymer is not one of them. But, if it is, i will put my original investment back into it.
