They could be a threat depending on how SK reacts to them.

I still believe they are doing this because they are in a dire situation of not being able to feed the people - or their army. They need more money because selling nuclear material to Iran isn't producing enough GDP to keep the country going.

Someone pointed out that if you look at those night time satellite photos of NK - it's almost completely blacked out, like Africa, while SK is lit up. They are desperately poor.

China will step up - or maybe they won't. NK is a thorn and reducing their population may be a solution. They got rid of 80 million of their own people.

I hope the diplomats are successful. Of course, it will end up costing us more. China will insist that we pay, and they will loan us the money to do so and charge a small fee for loaning us the money.
