Rocky, firewire will be great, when it comes. 'End of the decade' is not the 'near future.' Also, it is just a connection type, not a media. Bus types don't replace media, media replaces media.

What are you going to do?

1) Keep your digital camera on a firewire tether.
2) Spend $1000 for 100 hi-res pix worth of flash memory
3) Spend $100 for 100 hi-res pix worth of Clik.

It's your money.

So how do you expect to store pictures before you transfer them? Flash? Too expensive--n.hand will beat flash for this. Also, with n.hand (or clik now, probably) you can buy lots of disks for a reasonable price and store hundreds of pictures on one trip. Unless you want to spend $$$$, you can't do this with flash. Firewire is completely unrelated to this.

Rocky, Bearded One,

Seems like I can remember one of you saying there is no need for a 20 MB solution since a bunch of pictures can fit on one 1.44 disk and the other one saying that even with 20 MB you could only get 1 good picture on the disk.

Glad to see the bears are in such agreement.
