12/3/10 Update Intrepid investors continued to climb the “Wall of Worry” for another week. At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 14.20% YTD (vs. up 11.70% YTD a week ago) and the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 10.19% YTD (vs. up 9.61% YTD a week ago), while the Contest median was up 8.24% YTD (vs. up 6.94% YTD a week ago). ROCKY’s portfolio (up 48.67% YTD) had another great week and extended its lead, with FILO’s portfolio (up 36.73% YTD) holding on to the No. 2 position. RKRW’s portfolio (up 33.88% YTD) moved into third place. At Friday's close, 24 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black with 15 of the 32 beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the week (foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these two tables). Portfolio adjustments: None I’ll try to post an update mid-week, before I’m off to Vietnam. And, to remind everyone, the Contest ends with the close on Friday, 12/31.
