A few key points I spot in the UAW article.

recouping the billions of dollars GM owed it

Analysts estimate that it would break even if it sells the remaining two-thirds of its shares at an average price of $36

that the bondholders would have ended up with nothing if the government hadn't intervened.



The 3rd may be in dispute because any smart "stakeholder" would of had a default swap on their bond and made out like a bandit.
