Fortunately, that doesn't affect me though I'm now 2 years into that period. <there goes another 5 years of what could have been quite pleasant > Decades ago, I decided it would be very foolish if not suicidal to depend on continuing government/taxpayer/citizen largess to keep me in the manner to which I wished to become accustomed.

It seems unlikely that new immigrants from China are going to vote to work to pay for Baby Boomer Kiwis to enjoy the high life in their dotage. It seems much more likely that immigrant Chinese will turn NZ into Little Beijing just as the English immigrants of 150 years ago turned it into Little England [with some Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, Dalmatia, China and what have you thrown in here and there].

If you were to migrate here, would you vote to pay me to loaf around?
