That would be taking it one step further but you never know. I'd bet someone was paid to get something on him...though.

I was listening to a radio show about a new documentary about Spitzer. It's very likely that he was set up by one of the people or firms he was pursuing. The FBI was apparently working on a tip when they busted him. Spitzer himself says that was irrelevant, as it was his own behavior that got him in trouble.
