If the price goes lower, then the $2 billion buyback will soak up even more shares, which will be really nice later. If I were him, I would then mention a dividend, which should really put a scare in the shorts.

This buyback is really quite massive for a company this size. Will be interesting to watch as they start soaking up the shares.

There will most likely be another 25% to 50% increase on top of the buyback as the Bush tax cuts get extended. Watch for a massive rally in the markets. Senator McConnell is shutting down any bills until the tax cuts are extended.
This is a nice sweet spot - both this push from tax cuts and the buyback coming at the same time, should really, really rocket this stock in the near future.
