Dont forget, this might be just the beginning of the turnaround. I owe no stocks in AAPL so my views are not too biased.

On the 4.4 million hits or whatever, a large chunk are people in the industry (Marketing Analysts, Spies) so that figure is not all useful.

On the same token, they achieved half a million sales kinda like a new store in the mall---they sell lots of stuff in the grand opening and lose steam later.

However, Steve Jobs (which IMHO, is a VERY delicate individual and have a lot of intigrity to work as the interim CEO after getting booted few years ago. Out of all the Silicon valley and computer gurus, I like him the most as he has the charisma) definitely have the strategies lined up for the company. Re-establishing relationship with COMPUSA and making new and even better products are some of them. Getting back the market share from the cloners are the second. Selling thru the net is another. Apple is mimicing others' success. "Wise man learn from his own mistakes, wiser man learn from others."

By Christmas we ll know if aapl will turn around. I, personally will not buy the stock, but good luck to the longs)

Small Retailer Notes.

Since I sell Macs in a small store ("the little computer store, New York City"), I was e-mailed a request about how our customers are reacting to the Apple Store.

One customer today mentioned that he wanted to buy a G3 and asked if we could match/beat ther Apple Store price. I said I didn't think so, but I'd see what was available when he was ready. If not, he'd be interested in *selling* his 7200/90 through my store on consignment

On the plus, side, AAPL *is* charging sales tax, so no advantage to them there. (This should be the case on a national level by next year.)

We also had a staff meeting. Since we already have an excellent reputation for service/support, we think we can do well there. However, depending on our costs, we may be out of new and factory re-conditioned sales.

We will still do sales of used and consigned products and probably some of the low-end clones (most consumers overbuy relative to their actual needs.)

One idea we're considering is marketing ourselves as a consulting service -- charging a percentage of total purchase price to advise people without a clue what to buy -- and doing some of *our* buying from the Apple Store.
