That's really not the part of the anology that I was questioning. It the part about telling customers to buy another car because their current car is defective. I don't recall anyone seriously suggesting that Intel take this approach with customers.

BTW, I would definitely consider this latest "bug" much more serious if it were life threatening as was the case with the Pinto.

Automobile accidents are a way of life. Regular usage of automobiles includes a statistical number of accidents. Manufacturers are well aware of this when they design cars and that's why almost all automobile reviews usually include a section comparing vehicle safety.
