Are you saying that Indo's management is deliberately delaying drilling? Could you do some research and call some of the drilling companies and find out if they have rigs available? Go to http//www.stocksmart.com/ Industry groups selection to get a listing of all publicly traded drilling and oil services companies. Then go to Hoover's Online to get the phone numbers of those companies. Hoover's also will show a number of privately held drilling companies. The way you get around Hoover's subscriber only limitations is to go under one company in an industry and then select the option that says competitors. Also, go to http//www.goldeagle.com and go to the secton under oilworld. You get numerous links to oil service companies. Also Oil online is another website to check. Both sites have a vast array of links. Some of these go directly to drilling companies.
When I bought Indo in 1996, I was told that they had a planned 10 full sized test drills at thier various properties to be started in early 1997. Now everything is delayed to the second quarter of 1998. The reason is that "no rigs are available." Could you check to see if that is the truth please? If several companies say that they have rigs available, then please post the responses on this thread. Please put in costs, rig time availability and type of rig. And if the rig is available for the Pacific Region.

The quickest way to find out about rig availability is to review the following internet sites:

Oil Online which is sponsered by many companies in the oil industry it has 18 different major oil category links. Three links in particular are Rig Locator link, Oilfield Services link and Oilfield Equipment link. The URL is oilonline.com

You also want to try another major oil industry site. This site is called the DiscoverPlace. It has many oil category links. Look under the Equipment marketplace link. The URL is discoveryplace.com

Another very large oil industry site is called Oilworld. This has 28 major category links under "Important Listings and Reference Links. It has an additional 34 major category links under "Services and Suppliers". It has a further 20 major category links under "New and Used Trade Mart. The URL is oilworld.com

OilWorld and the discoveryplace are also reachable through Gold Eagle. Select gold-eagle.com

For up to date stock information on the whole oil exploration and oil services industry go to stocksmart.com Then select industry groups. This gives you up to date information (20 minute delayed stock quotes and company valuation ratios) on over 8,000 companies divided by 300 industry groups. And it keeps every company in its industry group for easy comparisions by various criteria.

Hoovers Online allows you to explore numerous private companies in an industry. You can select all companies in an industry group, including private companies. The way you get around the subscriber only information limitations is to select one company in an industry and then select the option that gives you industry competitors.

Once again, I request you research available drill rigs and drilling services. Some of the companies that don't do Pacific drilling could refer you to oilfield service and drilling companies that do. Please post on this thread a list of all oilfield service companies that have available drill rigs for the Pacific region. Please also post the phone numbers of those companies, the cost for the rigs and services. And the timing availability for the rigs.

If rigs are available now (and have been available during this year) than what does that say about Alex Guidi?

One person you might contact to find out about Rig availability in the Asia Pacific Region is Paulette Peoples at Baker Hughes Inc.

The Baker Hughes Inc. website has a rig count of all active rigs in the area where Indo Pacific drills. URL bakerhughes.com

Paulette Peoples is the researcher for the article. Her email address is :
paulette.peoples@bakerhughes.com

She might be able to tell you the percentage utilization of rigs in the Asia Pacific Region and what companies to contact regarding available rigs and their costs and scheduling information.
