Marcos, understand your frustration. A while back I was at an eating establishment with some friends when one of the fellows, with a little too much to drink, started getting into an argument with the waitress. She was a nice little girl from Laos, not really old enough to have experienced the sixties/seventies. But she took strong issue with my friend and the escalation began. She said some things that brought back too many memories for several of us and I for one was ready to jump across the table and defend our honor.
But, age has a way of making you think before you act and I looked at this girl and thought of all the things her family and relatives must have experienced that provided her with the base of knowledge she was using in her argument. And my experiences told me to try to understand. To this day I have learned as much positive from that dinner, at least in my mind, as I had negative from my experiences for the years I would like to forget.
Often times we all say and do things that are not really us...just a refection of our conditioning both good and bad.
No one means you harm...happy veterans day
