By the time the Americans do get out of Afghanistan, the Afghans will surely hate them so much that China’s mining companies already operating there should be able to buy up the rest of Afghanistan’s rare minerals. Not a very uplifting piece by Friedman - unfortunately it is hard to disagree. Lets think America again instead of global. Lets just go back to making things the rest of the world envy. Technology, green technology, biotech.
