The high tech account for about 40% of U.S. GDP. We don't know how much impact the recession in Asia will affect the growth of tech sector. If the impact is severe, then we might see over capacity in many computer company. But you also heard a lot of spin from WS saying it will be good for the over-heat US economy. ??????

<<<Maybe we're going to see a recession this year.
You forgot: si graphics lays off 1000..>>>> "B" I wouldn't count on it. Back in 91, half the country got laid off and the market kept chugging along and the economy did the same.

<<Maybe we're going to see a recession this year.>> Curious!!! Back in 1991 (I think) when the last recession started, I use to have lunch off an on at a neat sandwich shop in the county. Had the greatest sandwiches in town. Owner told me that early Jan. business was usually slow because everybody was broke from Christmas, But at the end of Jan. business had not rebounded and was real slow. By mid Feb. he told me something is going on. Business is real slow. In June or July the ceo of Dayton Hudson said they picked up the recession in April. By Nov. Greenspam said we must be in a recession.
