To all. How many asian DD makers are there and what kind of volume impact could they have within the next year. The fear in general is that the asian countries have been agressively expanding capacity in a number of sectors, now that their ecomonies are slowing they will be looking to export their way out. They also have a huge currency problem which deepens their need for cash, even at little or no profit. These comments are true for many manufacturing sectors and have been reiterated by Barron's. If it is true then we can count on deflation in some sectors, my fear is that the DD's could have their estimates cut further, lowing the earings. This could ultimately drive the stock price to the next resistance level.
The big question is what will the asian/japanesse companies do, will they forgo profit for market share??? Remember the same people who laugh at fortune tellers listen to economists, or even worse analysts.
Just some opinions and concerns. Looking for the opportunity to jump back in. Best of luck.
