This downturn is structural and has no quick fix. Big mistake the Dem's made was assuming this was going to be fixed in a couple of years if they threw everything from the FDR and helicopter Ben playbooks at the problem. We binged with overconsumption and excess debt since Reagonomics took hold and it went on steroids from 2003-05. I wonder how different things might have been if Bush 41 was reelected in 1992? Would Clinton being president from say 1997-2005 or 2001-2009 have changed history dramatically? Well the stock market is on fire like it was for much of the 1990's so Obama has something in common with Clinton..
