WR, most fossil fuels are burned in traffic. Regular commutes and all that. Not travel between two cities. What is an "alt en powered electric rail" actually powered by? Solar? Wind? You might as well just attach a sail to a train and call it the Pelosi Express. When fuel costs go up, existing rail networks will be sufficient in handling the extra loads. No need for another "high-speed rail" project that politicians LOVE but otherwise has very little application. By the way, I've started biking again. I'd start biking to work if I could work up the courage to bike in the dark. Plus it's cold up here. Maybe global warming will warm things up for me ... Tenchusatsu
