Maybe mushiness is at the center of my misunderstanding.
I was initially fascinated by your post about Heidegger. The question "why is there anything?" is marvelously subtle imo.

Where I came off the tracks, figuratively speaking, was when you said something that I didn't understand at all but seemed to me to contain a rather uncharitable opinion.

>we are persons positioned to ask it primarily so that we consider it, and consider it we must to avail ourselves of the wholeness of truth, using conscious awareness, logic, perception, and powers of deliberation. Or I suppose you could just continue to seek nihilistic comfort in your fantasy life of odd sensations, delusions of grandeur, illusion of prosperity, feelings of loneliness, and anxiety.<

To me, the hinge seems to be "awareness", and as an intellectual reflex I thought "okay, let's be careful not to define awareness too inclusively". If I strip it all thew way down, awareness is neurochemistry in action. I am aware of the staple in my Wranglers, and I am aware of a moderate case of McHeartburn. But can I honestly say that I am aware of my computer screen?
No.
Not without invoking reason, which, I am trying to contend rightly or wrongly, is a disqualifier to pure awareness. Using reason as an adjunct, i can leverage my primitive biological awareness to include the vast sea of consciousness ... but not without that offsides assist.

So my question was sincere and without a trap that I can see. I find that a more generous definition of awareness increases my perceived mush factor. i hope you understand my intent and method.
Since we are at an impasse regarding the semantics of conscious thought ... might I ask you to explain the cited sentences to me? I can plainly say "I don't get it" and then admit that I want to.
