I really don't know much about Santo, but I have personally lost interest in the Hall of Fame. I remember when sports columnist Shirley Povich (father of the gossip TV guy Maurey Povich) gave a talk at my high school and he said when asked that they should just stop admitting people to the OF because all the good ones had already been admitted. For me that was prophetic. Being elected to the HOF has become more like a popularity contest than anything. So much co that I no longer have any desire to even visit the HOF.

Cubs' worth rises 6%: Forbes magazine ______________________________________________________________ March 23, 2011 -- (AP) -- The Chicago Cubs are worth 6% more than last year, according to a ranking of Major League Baseball teams. The team has the fourth-highest value in the league with $773 million, Forbes magazine reported Wednesday it is annual list. The magazine found that the average value of MLB teams increased 7% from last year to an all-time high of $523 million. The New York Yankees, worth $1.7 billion, lead the way for the 14th straight year since Forbes began valuing franchises in 1998. The Boston Red Sox were second at $912 million with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets rounding out the top five. Only three teams' values didn't increase: the New York Mets, San Diego Padres and Cleveland Indians. The Texas Rangers' value increased 25 percent as new ownership took over the franchise and it reached its first World Series. The Mets lost 13 percent of their value amid legal and debt problems.
