Perhaps because my memory-tale does not have that annoying "listen to me; I am telling you something for your benefit" component that sticks to religious "witnessing" like roadside mud to Italian dress shoes.

Eggxactly! Where is pumpty dumpty when the brethern are making unverifiable truth claims based on nothing more than personal subjective experience? Of course the claim that all truth claims must be scientifically verified cannot itself be scientifically verified but that never seems to give them any pause at all. All the kings horses and all the kings men can't put pumpty's atheistic contradictions back together again. :)
