They're not allowed to use common sense. The cop I talked to said it was standard procedure and they had to follow protocols. Any threat is treated the same. I suspect they were also using it as an excuse for a training session.

How do you teach adults common sense? that is an unteachable concept. it is something (if lucky) you learn at home... from our respective breeding.
