The parallels seem clear and there is a teleological aspect to human development. The End of History had even been pronounced, en.wikipedia.org though to me there is at least one very large step to take - to Tradable Citizenship, without getting into the more esoteric possibilities of continued cyberspace development and where we go from there. There looks like more than a passing similarity to Biblical expectations as well as what Round 1 was about 2000 years ago.
