I think there are about 2% unemployed who have obsoleted skills which are suitable for jobs that have fled overseas during the Bush era. Some of the remaining folks may not get rehired and would get bumped by employers who would instead hire NCHs (New College Hires) for a much lower salary and lower health premiums. The NCHs do not figure in the unemployment list but do get some visibility in the number of jobs created. I know of my neighbors kid who graduate with a undergraduate degree in Management and has a offer from Best Buy as a management trainee in their corporate offices in Minnesota. Go figure.
