RC,

I read an article last night that was quite informative. It doesn't mention Fibre Channel by name, but it might give some insight into the type of Wall Street applications that might benefit from Fibre Channel.

Some comments from IR, responding to a couple of questions:

re: New York. <<The "Manhatten Project" is one in which the customer is still defining his needs and developing his plans. We do not believe it will generate near term revenue.>>

re: Comdex. <<Fibre Channel was very well received at Comdex this year thanks to a number of factors:

- Unified industry effort: The FCLC demo room included approx. 50
company displays plus interoperability demos showcasing leading
vendors. This gave customers (and OEMs) a one-stop source for
information on the universe of products now available (and also
minimized the number of tire kickers).

- Growing mindshare with media and influencers: The Monday AM FCLC
press event was very well received; we also had meetings with a variety of media and analysts to keep them apprised of our progress.

- Growing menu of 'interoperable' FC products, bringing the industry
closer to Storage Area Network (SAN) reality.

As well, so far it has been a good show for Ancor:

- Great exposure to important players among storage and system OEMs,
in an environment that showcased the power and benefits of the MKII
plus Ancor technology leadership.

- Ancor clearly had the broadest presence of any vendor in the room. In addition to our 'official display', we had videoconferencing kiosks in two corners of the room (connected to our display switch). We also had a live switch in the QLogic display, plus a switch in the shared demo area.

-We also had good build-up in advance of the show. You may have seen
the Interphase and FCLC releases plus our pre-show announcement
and today's Amoco release. We think this combination helps
to demonstrate both the viability of the technology plus the growing
market acceptance of our products.

In summary, great face time with customers, prospects and
influencers, plus quality time with friends and competitors.>>
