I still believe that the "truly impotent men"
is just a small portion of the eventual market,
and we have not yet heard the last thing about
Muse containing both alprostadil and prazosin.
The combination Muse/Viagra will create a timing
problem considering that Muse starts to work in
10 minutes and Viagra in one hour, and Muse lasts
one hour and Viagra lasts only 10 minutes. I
guess after a little trial and error and with a
cooperative partner they should be able to
synchronize it.

TA:<<Their success will depend purely on thier own unique
BIOLOGICAL/ CHEMICAL charcteristics, and there will be no amount of PR
or Doctor pushing that is going to change that. Within on year we'll
know what works, how and when and sales we'll go from here.>>

TA: I agree with you 100%! Great publicity will always lose out to a poor product in the healthcare marketplace ie Proscar(BPH) and Rogaine. In the long-run and, even, within 6 months following approval, the most successful pharmaceutical products have the same features; efficacy, safety, simple to administer, and relatively not expensive as compared to existing alternative therapies.

Good examples are the SSRIs and their impact on depression. These products are billion dollar products that were much anticipated and then delivered the goods. The end result was a dramatic increase in the number of patients going to see physicians concerning the "blues"- previously a major stigma. Does this scenario sound familiar?

By the way, it is interesting that I mentioned Proscar and Rogaine in the same sentence. Today, an FDA Advisory Panel will be considering a low-dose version of Proscar called Propecia for the treatment of alopecia (baldness). If approved and shown effective, this form of Proscar could become a blockbuster and overwhelm Rogaine's disappointing market position!
