All: Glad to see veterans of the MS War slinging mud across the reign. Had no idea this SI thread was available for freedom fighters of interoperability. I hope the same for Network Interconnectivity as we slide deeper in anguish with MS.

On another dreadful note from the farside, MS excerpt from today's news>

"One of the primary objectives for Microsoft is to buy some friends for WebTV and Windows CE," said Emily Green, a cable analyst for Forrester Research. The company's aim, she said, is to capture enough influence in the cable industry to sway hardware and software standards for set-top network computers toward its own products. Initial standards for digital networking over cable systems are expected to be set by the end of the year.

"Microsoft has essentially been saying, 'We can write you a $1 billion check, Mr. Cable Operator, if you're willing to take the simple step of adopting the WebTV box as your standard or give us a big order,'" Green said. wired.com

Well I guess there needs to be "someone" we can complain about when things look lopsided.

So complaining I am: Don't F*&K with my desktop!

I have read through 7 different mags on Win-98 and must say I do not plan to load this crap anytime soon. I did download IE4.0 but deleted most of the desktop (mickeymouse)icons rightaway.

Here's hoping sometime next year we can download the new FAT32Converter and the new system Defrag-optimizer SEPERATE!!

Yea right.... gggg
