Yes, Obama is better than Bush & Cheney BUT why is Obama afraid to stand up and FIGHT for what is right...?? You gotta make the GOP leaders respect you. Why is Obama afraid to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan early and ahead of when "the experts" in the think tanks and the Military say they should be ended...?? Why is Obama unwilling to just say NO to any new tax cuts for the wealthy...?? I want Obama to have some spine and FIGHT for what he really believes in...stop all this compromising before the negotiations even get started...Forget running for a 2nd term...do what's right for the country (even if you're only a one term president)...Where is the serious national discussion about clean energy and how it's a real national security issue...??

My current guess is that the man cares more about his successes than his failures. Even if he has to trade a big chip for a smaller chip he gets an accomplishment in his column. Nobody counts the failures; they are the status quo anyway.

Think of it as building a resume. "I accomplished this this this and this" and you never mention what you traded away. Health care reform, financial reform are huge bullet point that other Dems have not been able to do.

Good strategy or no? I don't know. I look at cutting taxes for the ultra wealthy below the taxes for average Americans and I'm shocked. I am seriously offended. I hate it. But he's eked out some fair programs in less than 2 years.

I'm not sure that he won't get the last laugh on us all. Reps and the very left.

Scott, first of all, please stop with the BS. He is stopping the war in Iraq exactly when he said he would. Let's not keep going over old BS. Its aggravating to say the least.

As for Afghanistan, there is talk of 2014 by Petraeus but I have not heard Obama say it yet. I think he is having real problems with the military.

As for the tax cuts, why he is not saying 'no' is because he's trying to get unemployment extended. I suspect that is what's on the table.

Obama is a typical midwesterner....very much the pragmatist whose willing to eat something he doesn't like to get different results. I don't like it any more than you do....the last thing I want to do is feed the rich caviar....but I understand he is the president of the entire American population and he has to consider what's best for all of his people.

And the Rs are the most destructive they have ever been in their sorry history. Its absolutely disgusting what they have become......they are very much their lower selves. There is nothing more I would like to do than to spit in their eyes......and I suspect Obama feels even more strongly.

Obama is trying to save the country. However, I don't know if anyone can save it. I think this may be the stuff that happens when a country is in decline.
