Actually there's a lot there I never thought about. But any short-this-go-long-that strategy is too complicated for me. Except for a few lucky put-buying adventures, and a series of shorts of a tech-stock index (QQQQ), going long what I understood well has been MUCH the best procedure for me. Most spectacularly, buying NGD (VERY large position, which I wish I had held to this moment) at about 90 cents a share--and getting massively into Canadian Oils Sands Trust very early.

Most recently, averaging down on UEX has paid off well. They partner with Ariva, and their uranium finds are so rich that one could almost mine them with a backhoe and a pickup truck.
