Day-trading is trading on noise. Any noise will do -- and the fact that China's move to raise rates is GOOD for gold does not stop some no-nothing person with a news hole to fill from saying otherwise. Day trading is like trying to pretend that you know whether a coin will flip heads or tails on any given toss -- a gamble at best. Investing based on fundamentals has little in common with day trading.

You said it was a 'fact' that gold was hurt by China's move to raise rates -- I say it is plainly evident that is was completely wrong and the price of gold is proving that today. I was commenting on the fundamentals -- you appeared to be commenting on the number of people who got it wrong for a few days -- as if their mistake in judgement makes it a 'fact' that higher rates in China are bad for gold prices.
