Bipartisan tax deal just added another Trillion to the federal deficits over the next two years... going forward beyond that point amounts are yet to be calculated. Time to start tax code simplification and slashing government spending! (Two wars - gotta go, mortgage interest deduction and several hundred other loopholes outlined by the Simpson/Bowles commission - need to go, half the Ag. Department budget - farm subsidies... Medicare and Social Security reforms, etc., etc., etc., etc.) Right in time for the 2012 elections! One topic of the election for every politician should be: WHAT (exactly) are you proposing to CUT? (And, pocket lint and shop-worn diversions like "earmarks" and "waste, fraud, abuse" barely score a mention. Accounting for well under 1% of the shortfalls they are merely indicators of politicians who are willing to be boldfaced in their lying to the American public.)
