hmmm, I was thinking of human systems like societies, political systems, etc. "Systems Theory: the transdisciplinary study of the abstract organization of phenomena, independent of their substance, type, or spatial or temporal scale of existence. Computer systems are based on a simple binary system of '1' and '0' and look what we've been able to do in due time. The Universe in singularity is based on indistinct stability where a small irregularity, like a vibration, could be the basis for universal action and change from a singular thing to what we are experiencing. So from nothingness to something may be that simple, anyway that seems to be the simplest comparable design for your software.
