Evolution involves growth, improvement, and becoming (qualitatively and quantitatively).

Many things are fixed. Rules are fixed, archetypical forms, logic, interactions, the expression of energy, to name but a few.

A tendency toward well being of things; at least over the long run the process of evolution is advantageous to adapting things.

Perhaps the light of consciousness is dim but that too is emerging phenomenon.
