For anyone playing the drillers and CPQ or TXN,

tickertapedigest.com

Texas Instruments (TXN) lost 4 to 108 3/4. Its off 33 3/4-points from its peak set on Oct. 13.

Tape Action - Weak. TXN has been clobbered, but the tape action does not reflect that. Instead,
TTD is picking up modest accumulation at times. It should remain volatile.
****************
Compaq Computer (CPQ) dropped 3 1/4 to 61 1/8. It cut prices on its Armada 7300 and 7700
computers 5% to 24%. The Street is forecasting a 22% rise in fourth quarter net, a slowdown in
growth from the 51% and 48% gains the prior two quarters.

Tape Action - Bearish. CPQ breaks down with heavy down tick volume. The stock traded 9 million
shares with down tick volume of 1.6 million shares. Stock should go lower near-term
********************
Tidewater (TDW) moved up 1 3/4 to 67 7/8. The Street projects earnings will climb 35% this year
and 22% next year.

Tape Action - Fair. TDW shows only small up tick volume. The stock looks like it is tiring. TTD
expects a consolidation.
**********************
Transocean Offshore (RIG) gained 1 7/8 to 59 5/8. Analysts expect a 41% increase in earnings this
year and a 100% jump next year.

Tape Action - Good. RIG remains in an uptrend and today emerges from a small base. The stock is
acting very well.
